6/02/2024

LONDON, 6th February 2024The Smart Cube (a WNS company) a global provider of strategic research and analytics solutions, today announced a significant revamp of its Commodity Intelligence solution, including brand new AI Forecasting and Cost Optimisation modules, all delivered through a seamless digital interface.

The Smart Cube’s custom commodity intelligence and price forecasts are now integrated into the Amplifi PRO procurement intelligence platform*. The enhanced user interface will enable client teams to access both deep procurement intelligence and commodity insights in one place, as well as leverage a host of new interactive technology features as part of its Commodity Intelligence solution.

Omer Abdullah, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, The Smart Cube, said: “A combination of external factors adding volatility to commodity markets, along with internal challenges around fragmented data and a lack of contextualisation, provide a challenging backdrop against which Procurement teams must continue to deliver effective commodity risk management and tangible organisational value.

“At The Smart Cube, we transform data into insights and help leading businesses around the world make better decisions. The enhancements to our Commodity Intelligence solution will help Procurement bring together internal and external data more efficiently to underpin robust decision making and actionable strategies.”

Specifically, brand new modules will allow clients to access accurate and timely custom intelligence related to the commodities that influence their sourcing strategies and spend:

  • AI Forecasting – Provides Procurement teams with commodity insights through AI-powered price forecasts and news monitoring, refreshed every four hours
  • Cost Optimisation Toolkit – By leveraging spend data with a tool to simulate price points and pricing strategies considering latest market forecasts, commodity buying strategies can be optimised for maximum profitability
  • Event Risk Impact Mitigation (ERIM) – Allows Procurement teams to understand the potential impact of geopolitical, macro and natural events on their commodities portfolio in near real-time to manage risks effectively

Behind this technology, The Smart Cube’s Commodity Specialists play a pivotal role – coming together in a seamless blend of ‘AI+HI’ (Human Intelligence). This team of specialists monitor the commodity markets, and produce custom insights and forecasts, clearly communicating the impact of external factors and their impact on Procurement, fostering widespread adoption and ensuring clients stay well-informed.

The Commodity Intelligence solution enables data-driven decision making for commodity volatility and price risk management through:

  • Forward looking insights – including price forecasts, supply-demand outlook and hedging recommendations
  • Risk management and strategy support – budget planning, spend inflation analytics, scenario modelling, and event risk-impact mitigation frameworks
  • Customised solutions – 100% contextualised intelligence and executive-ready reports, available across multiple platforms, as well as plug & play modules
  • Wide commodity coverage – covering agro, dairy and livestock, resins and petrochemicals, energy and fuels, metals and minerals, ferro-alloys, and pulp and paper
  • Commodity specialist consultations – on-demand consultation and regular reviews with our team of industry specialists
